This series of images is the result of a three month trip across America at the time of Presidential race and the witnessing of America on the verge of economic, political and social uncertainty.

Initially I was attracted to the formal and symmetrical relationships within the various planes of glass of the lens of the camera and the shop windows. The abandoned shop window serves to underpin America on economic decline. The dollar is weak and the increasing Iraq debt escalates to thirty trillion dollars.
This is literally reflected in the local, social landscape. The reflections abstract the objective viewpoint and overlay visual understandings. This very much mirrors my experience in this country on this trip. The images serve to represent the contradictions of a country, vast, domineering and culturally and globally uncertain. Icons of an American past are distinguishable through empty streets and a country of potential hope.
This period as described in the photographs is indeterminate, in doubt and in debt.
